Kesling Intermediate School Auditorium

Classic R&B Quintet.

A broad range of rhythm & blues, pop, and rock hits.

The Spaniels' roots go back to 1948 at Roosevelt High School in Gary, IN when classmates Billy Shelton and Pookie Hudson began singing together.

The Spaniels were the first artists signed to Vee-Jay Records, an independent African-American owned record label in Gary that paved the way for Motown Records. In the Spring of 1954, the Pookie Hudson-written single - "Goodnight Sweetheart, Goodnight" - rose to the Top 5 on the Rhythm & Blues chart and became an international hit.

Their repertoire today includes a broad range of Rhythm & Blues, Pop, and Rock hits as well as some Gospel, where they all got their beginning in singing.
